This past weekend I was up in the waiparous area camping and tried fly fishing for the first time. I waded several km of the creek. Absolutely loved it even though I din't catch a thing. Only thing I have to show for it is some beautiful pictures and a dead iPhone from falling in the water.

Now the even better part. I have a week off work. So I was wondering is any fly fisherman would like to go fishing with a newb like me? I've fished with spinning gears for over 20 years and have a boat but never did get into fly fishing until now.

I have a 2wd truck and the basics for fly fishing. I'd be up for an over night trip somewhere or a day trip. I live in edmonton and we could car pool or meet up somewhere.

Been reading Barry Mitchell's Alberta's Trout highway. I'm thinking the cleawater, Ram, Shundra. But heck, What do I know.

I could do friday but saturday is out.
Need to be at a weeding in Edmonton saturday.

I'm in LA for the next week or I'd be in for some fishing. But when I get back I still have a few weeks off so I'm getting some serious fishing in then.

If you can get someone to take you to Shundra you will definetly catch fish!

Thinking about heading out wednesday morning and staying at the ram falls pro park.
Then stay at Seven mile pro rec area the next night.

Heading out wens morning, fish the clearwater.
Thrusday is the ram and friday is the shundra.

I'll post updates when I get back.
Or if I have cell reception anywhere.

Just left leduc, it's overcast with light rain. Hopefully that means good fishing. Will update later for those of you stuck at work! :)

The Clearwater at hwy 22 is nice and clean!

Back on hwy 11.
All totaled caught 12 cutts and 6 browns!
Will post pics when I get home.
Not bad for my first time fly fishing.
