You should mount a spoiler on your reel and chrome spikes around the handle

no its not lol i just didnt have anything to pair it up with since i got a matching 5/6wt for 15 bucks. i wasnt planning on buyin the reel but it was $39.99 at sportsman den and i just had to get it.

Put mono backing, lots of choices of colours. With a weight forward line that spool will not hold much backing.

The orange backing you can get at almost any store that spools up reels. WSP also has it. Backing is cheap so you can always change it if you want later.

As for the fly line I would rather know what type of rod you have and what action the rod is. That way you can get a better cast for your rod. Most companies blue lines are one's that they make for salt water fishing in the tropics. They will be much too stiff for fishing in Alberta. If you just get the line for color then you might end up with a line that doesn't seem to cast right for the rod. For example if you get a fast action line like a RIO Gold and you put it on a slow action rod. The rod will load up fast but will take forever to recover and get the line back. Not saying that the line will be impossible to cast. But you could do much better and if you buy a line that matches your rod you will be much happier in the long run.
