2 subjects I guess...
Firstly...let me say how jacked I am about the upcoming season...I've never prepped a camp this early, or at all actually!!
I'm headed out with the kids for 3 days next week to prep our campsite for the season and do a bit of scouting. Cut and stack some firewood, clear sight-lines, build a stand or two if things go really well. (firewood is priority, as I hate making all that noise when were in camp).

Trail Cams- I'm brand new to this...I have one I've never used, and will be looking to by 2 more before we head out. Any recommendations on something I can buy locally (EDM) for around 100.00 per unit ??

What can I expect for battery life on average? (i"m hoping to leave them for 3 or 4 weeks) I'm probably gonna drop 4-8 gig cards in them.

I'm leaving them on crown land, but it's way back in there, so I'm willing to roll the dice on theft. Also I'm gonna go infrared so the flash doesn't attract attention.

Any tips on setup, positioning, rigging, etc would be appreciated. I've never used one before, more doing it for fun rather than trophy scouting, I know there is a ton of deer around. It's more of just one more thing to keep my tech addicted kids excited about hunting.

back to camp....what else should be on my checklist?
- firewood cut
- tent frame poles cut (then hidden away)
- sight lines "pruned"
- haul in a tank of propane, (hidden)
- rifles sighted in (for later season)
- shoot bow about 500 times in 3 days lol !!!
- build a toilet (cut timbers topped with an old seat)
- build a shower ( daughter insists on it, don't know if she means for her or for ME !!??)

Anyway...just getting excited about the season. I plan on spending a week in camp in Sept, and a week in Nov after CFR. I look forward to suggestions...and yes, I'm hauling out anything I bring in...I just want to take fuel in early cause it takes up so much space.
