Always had luck at the fingers. I always start at the south finger and troll north until the cabins. For casting, I would say try the north finger along the weed bed inside the bay itself.

In the southern half of the lake (the lake's shaped like an hour-glass separated by "the narrows") you'll find a huge sand bar covered with cabbage weeds a little closer to the eastern shore, but hard to miss. It ranges anywhere from 3 - 10ft deep, and it feels as if you're fishing out in the middle of nowhere: but it's there. Throwing large pike/ musky lures up there (Suick, Cisco Kid, Grandma) will catch you fish over 10lbs every time.

Don't be afraid to cast them right into the cabbage and rip them out, but you'll need some heavy bait casting tackle if you want to horse them outta there. Good luck, but there might be a big algae boom going on right now - it's common in August.
