build up the male end of the pieces in question with a clear lacquer. start with a thin even layer and build it up as needed. apply it evenly and allow ample drying time before assembling your rod.

I've used wax before, and agree it works.

Check the ferrel first, it may be coming apart becasue there is a small crack in the female end.... If there is, someone else on here may be of more help on how to fix it. If there isn't try putting your rod together with the guides missaligned at about 45 degrees, as it snugs up, twist it untill the guides are aligned. I generally use this method and dont seem to have a problem with rods coming apart. You can also try the wax, it can work well also.

Teflon tape to fill the gap and then a small hoseclamp ought to fix that good

Agree with the wax from a candle and just rub it on liberally

Try wax first. Hose clamp last. Rick.
