I went down to Goldbar Park tonight and the outfall was really pouring out. Do fish prefer it when it's like this or do they prefer it when it's a little slower? Should I try that spot again after a period of no rain?

20 feet down the shore from there I will catch atleast a dozen walleye in 3-4 hours of fishing. atleast.

try using smelts on a p-rig or try putting a smelt on a jig head and jigging it in. usually I just use a black jig though, did you try fishing at outfall 105? its like 50 meters down shore from the outfall you took a picture of. I usually catch 1 or 2 in the riffle behind it.

I still caught one walleye on a 3" white powerbait grub, which I was pretty excited about as it was the first time I managed to catch anything on a jig-head. Much more fun than still fishing.

Thanks for the tips, people. I'll try that outfall downstream.

Has anybody found a map of Edmonton's outfalls?

I believe I saw one in a necro post like 3 months ago... but biking along the river valley trails suffices for me.

Where do you guys park down there. I thought id go take a look in there today and parked in the parking lot east of the plant. Thats a pretty long hike in there unless theres parking closer. There was a guy in a boat fishing the edge of the foam line, but it would have to be a good cast to reach that outside foam line from shore.

So how do you get to the outfall if you park in the Goldbar parking lot which is west of the outfall? Do you walk down the boat ramp to get to the trail or?

get to the 50th street boat launch, take a right and just head down the dog path until you hear rushing water, there will be more then one spot to hop down to the beach.
