I don't target them, but i've caught quite a few before using larger panther martins

Minnow under a slip bobber usually does the trick :)

In late summer you can catch them in just about any fishy-looking location on the NSR. When you see a lot of fish rising in the river, that's Goldeye. They seem to tolerate "faster" water than pike or walleye, and like to hang out where the current meetrs the slack water (in my experience anyway). Minnows, worms, small spoons, spinners and jigs all work well- Goldeye are pretty aggressive feeders.

Only evey caught one in the river. Total flook, Fishin for walleye at night and one just bit onto the red devil.

I was out last week and caught a few on an elk hair caddis by casting to rising fish. Panther Martin spinner also worked.
