I fished it for the first time last weekend and I can't believe I hadn't been there before. It's probably the nicest of the southern reservoirs I've fished - I'm heading there tomorrow also. I'm not the best person to give advise on spots, being a first timer and all. We caught a couple of Pike on the flat west of LBPP, a couple of Walleye trolling in Ling Coulee (I think it's called) and a few in the northern spur. We didn't fish the spillway. As far as algae is concerned, Travers has the cleanest water I've seen in the last two months. I'm not sure why the water is so clear there...lack of fertilizer from adjacent fields maybe? Regardless, looking forward to tomorrow and doing some seroius exploring. Good luck.

Shore fishing would be difficult around most of the reservoir, I would think. There were lots of people fishing around and in the spillway...pretty easy access there. Also lots of shore fishermen around the boat lauch at LBPP. It looks like you could walk a good distance west and east of there along the shore line.

traver's is a fantastic walleye / pike fishery. also great for whitefish. the whole banks of travers from what i remember is quite muddy but i have seen people camp the shore in some areas. not sure if this is legal...
a pal pulled a 10lbs walleye from there weeks ago near the spillway. last year, had dozens of chasers and bites on pike where the long lillypad weedbed begins in about 8- 10 feet of water. You can sight fish this lake on a clear day with some polorized glasees. still unable to locate any perch, although i have heard of jumbo's lurking in there.
