I took an opportunity to fish one of the famous trout rivers called the Petrohue in southern Chile while visiting the outlaws. I thought I'd share some photos:

By the end of the day it was getting fairly soggy but it was a blessing as the swarms of hungry horseflies were kept at bay. Some of the most beautiful water I have seen:cool:

Do you know what types of trout they have?

Pretty much the same as us. Browns, rainbows, brook but no lakers, cutt's or goldens that I am aware of. Some of the rivers are quite famous world wide and I can see why now (beautiful trout habitat). From what I was told, all the trout are introduced species there and they have the worlds largest trout and salmon rearing facilities in Chile (due to lack of regulation). They too are setting themselves up for a natural disaster with fish farms.
