I'm new to this, so I hope not to screw up too terribly!
I have this Winchester 94 Saddle Ring Carbine Ser# 2888XXX rifle it has never been shot and the original owner never kept the paper or the box. The rifle has a semi-deluxe walnut stock (not presentation by any means) and a hardened blued reciever. The guns is flawless, any ideas as to its value?

Thanks, I'm also trying to figure out how many guns would have been manufactured like this one in any given year. It appears to have been manufactured in 66, from what I can tell. I see that the numbers per year are in the 100k, would commemeratives be serial numbered outside of these numbers?

Yes. Commems are different serial system

Check Winchester Serial Numbers in google. It will tell u what u want to know

You own a fine rifle. Not special, just a good gun.

Thanks Huntinstuf.
Yeh, I am aware that it won't draw a crowd!
I have tried Google, but haven't found any detailed info regarding manufacturing.
I guess what I should be asking is if anyone knows of a good publication that contains those details?

Type in your serial number
Then type in one that is about 50,000 more
Eventually you can narrow down how many were made in 1966

Just play with the serial number, up 50,000 then add some, subtract some until it shows 1967 or 1965

With a little number playing you can narrow it down pretty quick
