Just curious if anyone can give a little insight on a hand load for a .270 WSM.

When I first got my 270 WSM I worked up a load using 130 gr Barnes TSX bullets and Reloader 19. It gets about 3225 fps @ the muzzle and shoots quite accurately out of my rifle. I'm happy enough with it that I have never experimented any further with something different, and it's worked well on several deer and a bull elk.

The TSX and TTSX bullets seem to be really popular with WSM owners, as does the 140 gr Nosler AccuBond.

I'm shooting 64gr RL-17, 110ttsx out of my X-Bolt. The load I worked up for my bro was 59.5gr IMR 4350, 130ttsx out of his browning White Gold BLR-81.

This is the load i started with and it works great out of my gun..
140 grain Nosler Accubond
61 grains of IMR 4831 Powder
Mag Primers.
That load will drive tacks all day long from my gun.. Good Luck..

I have a Rem Model 7 22" barrel. I sumbled upon a load that is amazing with my gun. 140gr Accubond, XMR3100 powder 63.0gr (have to use a long drop tube as it fill the case up) Win LR Mag primer, Win cases. The last group I shot the three holes could be covered with a dime. Chronied Vel. 3022fps.
A word of note: This powder is very hard to find.

Some loads that work reasonably well out of my 16FCSS:

Hornady 130gr IB, IMR4350 x 55.2 gr, Fed 215
Nosler 130 gr BT, IMR4350 x 63.0 gr, WLRM
Hornady 140 gr ILBT, IMR4831 x 59.0 gr, WLRM
Hornady 140 gr SST, RL19 x 59.1 gr, WLRM

And of course the usual cautionary words that these are loads for "my" gun. Don't arbitrarely use these in yours without reducing first. Play safe.

I use Retumbo (69.3gr and 71.0gr COMPRESSED LOAD) with 215 primers and 140gr Accubonds out of my two Tikka T3's 270WSMs. 3260 ft/sec.

Love the performance. Never bothered to try other powders or my TSX bullets-ended up trading them for more 140gr Accubonds.

I use a similar load but with the 60.5 grains of H4831sc powder. They are very accurate. I was getting frustrated with hand loads until I found this combination . Most of my groups had two to three touching out of 3 per group.
