Sooo.. My parents gives me like $50 - $100 per year to spend on fishing stuff.
Im going to try to use that money wisely this year. (Im a hardbait kind of guy)

Lets say i got $50:
Should i get like 5 Rapalas? (Around $10 each)
Or like 15 bass pro lures? (Around $3-$4 each)

Or do you guys have any other ideas?

Thanks :)

Call out the lure makers online, or wait for a walleye unlimited meeting and get 30 raps for 50 bucks or the like or ask if anyone has a load to sell used. I like raps but, eeesh the price keeps inching up,, maybe stalk the stores just at ice up when they want to clear out stock or go the rap knock off route.

If you get the Husky Jerks they're one of the slightly more affordables Rapalas and one of the best and most versatile in my opinion.

Yada,

I think my first question, is what are you fishing for the most part? That could help us give you better input on whats hot and working lately, and steer you in a 'best bang for your buck' deal.

I use anything that is able to cast far. Anything from top water to deep diving.

Lotto Max is up to 50 million again. That would last me for a few seasons. LOL. Try watching on Kijiji there are some good buys on it from time to time. For example I just got a Scotty 1085 down rigger and 10 lb. ball for 20 dollars three weeks ago. Perfect working order too. I was so happy I gave him 40. A couple of years ago I got a whole bunch of baits at liquidation world for 50 cents each. With limited funds you need to get creative. Once you find cranks/lures that work for you keep buying very similar stuff. Best of luck in any case. Rick.

My advice is to check ebay.ca

I buy almost ALL my crankbaits on ebay. every other year I go on the website and type in "rapala lot" and here is an example of what i would buy online:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Lot-20-NIB-Rapala-Mepps-Berkley-PowerBait-Jigs-Arbogast-Hula-Popper-Jitterbug-/180734227161?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a149972d9

Most of the time it is outdoorsman stores selling off last years styles., but i don't think the fish care if you are using last years colours!
