I bought a 300 RUM Sendero 5 years ago, last year I noticed a small hole in the fore end of the stock & didn't think too much of it but this weekend when I was out hunting I noticed another one about 3/8" round on the butt end. The gun is 5 years old, would this still be a warranty issue? If it is, how do I go about getting them to replace the stock?:thinking-006:

Post some pictures, and we will be better able to assess the situation.

Is that a HS Precision stock on yours?

All Senderos have a HS stock.

Might be a dumb question but are the holes for sling swivel studs??

The holes are not for the swivels. They look more like an air pocket that had a thin layer of covering over it that broke through when pressure was applied to the area. I just checked the Remington website & the gun is only covered for defects for 2 years so I'll have to replace the stock at my own cost.

I have seen this in a few different stocks, I believe it is air pockets from when they are being built. If you ever sand a HS stock to refinished it you will find lots of holes under the layer of paint. I have just filled them with a little bondo and re-painted.
