I figured that I'd throw this out there before making plans for the gravel pit. I have 4 rifles that I'd like to sight in if you wouldn't mind a tag-along. I have no problem whatsoever paying the daily or guest rate. I just don't see the point in buying a membership this late in the year. Thanks, Dave.

One time bump before I head to the gravel pit.

Weather tomorrow sunny with 5 km winds. Looks good for the weekend as well.

You would be welcomed to fire my 10/22, Savage 17 hmr, 22-250, 30.06 & 300 win mag. I have plenty of ammo. :)

Anyone thinking about trying one of these calibers out before purchasing is welcomed to join me.

Does anyone know of any Edmonton area ranges that will take a drop in shooter or do they all require a member to sign you in as a guest?

the only range I know of that take drop in shooters is Pheonix between 34th and 50th street off the freeway. They only have a 40yrd range though. Wild West in WEM may allow rifles but Im not sure.

Try the websites for Spruce Grove and Genesee (CHAS).

I emailed Darren from the CHAS website on September 28 but I never received a reply. I figure that he must be out of town or something.

I read that in order to use the Spruce Grove range you needed a range safety course, or something to that affect, before you would be allowed to shoot there (I think that I saw it in the membership conditions) so I doubt that they'd allow visitors without being signed in by a member.

No matter, I'll just head to the gravel pit tomorrow. :)

LOL! It's not too hard to figure out who this is being that other than my immediate family I only know one other person with the same last name. Especially with how common our last name is.

I'd be interested in going to a range with targets out further than 100 yds to try my bdc recticle on my new scope. I was a member of CHAS last year but the CFO shut down everything past 100 yds. What range around Edmonton has targets out further than 100 yds now?

I think CHAS has reopend with targets out to at least 300...they did take "guests" at one time?
SPFGA goes out to 300M but no "guest" or "day" pass provisions.

Thanks Rem. If Genesee is back up to 300, or farther, I'll be joining again next year. They do take guests but I'm pretty sure that you need to be signed in by a member. Unless I'm working up reloads it's not worth it for me to buy a year membership to only shoot out to 100 yds once a year.

Spruce grove is open for 300 yards as well. It's been open since Julyish.....?? for the longer range.
