I have a Win. model 95 in .303 British (circa 1907). Problem being, like many other old rifles, the bore is dark and pitted. I have cleaned the bore quite thoroughly (Outers, wipe-out, nylon bristle brush etc), and had the muzzle re-crowned, but it still key holes (25m, 50m, 75m). Key holes with decent velocity and penetration however. It isn't a mint original (barrel has been shortened, non original sights, wood imperfections), but it retains some nice patina, and the action is nice and tight. I don't know if it is worthwhile to have it re-barreled, re-lined, or keep it as a wall hanger/sell it to a cast bullet shooter. I'm not a cast bullet guy either so casting my own ammo isn't an option. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I'd re-barrel it and keep shooting it or re- bore to 35/303!:)

Sadly I'm not a handloader. Otherwise a vintage lever gun with ballistics that might be slightly better than a .35 win would be quite apealing

Then re-barrel to 303 British!

Bill Leeper would be your man, but possibly Bob Galloway has a reamer as well.

Any thoughts on a re-line, or who does them in Alberta?

It is, in my opinion, slightly easier to rebarrel than to re-line. If it were mine, I would re-barrel to 303 or 30/40. The 303 s likely the better choice as ammunition is more readily available. Leeper.
