I am looking to take my 2.5 year old fishing. She asks me every day. I would like to take her to a perch lake near Edmonton. Not looking for size, just somewhere that the action is good. I would really like a lake full of those maggot stealers. Just want to keep her busy. I think she would really like to watch them on the Aquaview.

If you want something real close you could try Cardiff Pond. It's about 20 minutes North of the ciy. Lots of perch and a good chance of hooking in to some rainbows.

There are millions of 3"-6" perch at Wabamun if you are looking to catch and release. I have been out a few times about 75m to the Southeast of the Wabamun Marina over the past month and they are all over the place in 5-8' of water.

They bit the best for me on a small gold or silver colored perch spoon tipped with maggots. But im sure you could get a bite on almost anything.

I was even watching them on the camera biting the black swivels on my 12" pike leaders.... just nuts.
