Sometimes you win some...sometimes you don't

So I went out again yesterday to try another river a bit further away to see if I could get the same results as I did on my previous post “Bulls and Browns in October” and I can definitely say it was a humbling experience…those big Bulls can break your heart some days…check out the youtube video:

Afterwards I headed a bit downstream and found a honey hole full of Rainbows. All sitting in their winter hole waiting for the snow to come. The action at one point was non-stop every cast for at least 12 casts, which made me feel better about loosing that BIG Bull Trout in the video…Here’s some highlight pictures:

At the end of the night as it was getting dark another large fish latched onto my nymph rig and bolted right into a pile of submerged trees, and then snapped the line and took everything except my indicator. That’s when I called it a night…you can’t win them all I guess. 

Great pics! those 'bows have some beautiful coloring on them! Gotta hate when the big ones get away...damn.

yah, but the 20 or so Rainbows and Cutbows made me feel better about it :)

thats awsome man, thats one of the things i seem to target the most is the smaller pan size trout cause they seem to hit all day long and you catch volume instead of a few quality fish. keeps ya busy all day. well done man

Thanks Bud, although I do wish that I would have brought that last one to the net. I think it was a big Brown that made my reel sing for that few seconds. It would have been nice to see him.
