Where do you live and what have you been trying? Fish are around but getting harder to catch because of the cooler water, but still catchable. Rick.

You sure have problems with this fishing thing. I have had some luck this month at Muir casting woolly buggers with the fly rod. there are larger fish cruising close to shore so your casts do not have to go far or be perfect. if you do not catch anything at least you practised your casting.

As far as the river goes for this time of year try throwing out a pickeral rig. I did on Sunday (froze my butt of for 1.5 hrs in the shade and wind), and I had not thrown a pickeral rig in two years but got 4 nice walleye all 4-6 lbs. You can still catch on jigs and hardware but this time of year it is not as easy.

Yup, the NSR is producing, but they want what they want for the most part now. Try for an hour or so past sunset :)
