I've got Google Earth Free now but is far too old for what I need it for. Sounds like the Plus is too old also. Thanks for replying. BEL

If you know any person with the ($400.00 + ) oil field book/maps then it is/can be a gold mine !

I have a boss with one of AB and B.C. and he lives not far north of me. Having moved here 3.5 years ago, I didn't know a lot of Lakes. He loaned me the book, I then scanned the area map(s) and got two new hard to find Lakes very loaded with big Pike and Perch (seldom fished) !

I too have Google Earth, but the maps/photos are very out-dated and hard to see any roads at the res needed to drive to.

The above mentioned book shows lease roads etc and I can now get to Lakes I thought were not available with anything but an ATV or sled....!

hey BEL,
If you tick the MORE folder in the side panel of Google earth, it will bring up the dates of all the satillite pictures. They are all marked DG XXXX-XX-XX.
In a quick look I saw most of them are 2006-2007, although some are 2003.

Map, I see that some of them are 2002. How can you tell if the area one is looking at is 02 or 07? BEL

hey BEL,
If you click to expand the MORE folder, you will see the folder for "DigitalGlobe Coverage", if you expand that folder, you will see all the years.
You can tick off all the years before 2008 and then just the 2008 coverage will show.
