As far as i know they used to have fish, and unless they stocked them recently which there is no indication of on the government website. They netted in 2003 and the only species of fish they noted were stickelback, and fathead minnow. The lake is really deep and looks like it would be a good place to fish but from what i hear its got too much nutrients in it, and may frequently winter and summer kill.

Many other lakes in the area south and north of st paul. If I was to venture out that way my first place to stop would be Chicken hill lake for perch, then I would go south east about 10 miles, two lakes there, perch again. You could go further south to Lacbellevue, stocked with walleye over 15 years ago and been catch and release since. Some nice pike were pulled from there years back. Im sure there are some very big eyes and pike in there today. Kahiwan has some nice perch if you can find them. Could go on and on just too may lakes to choose from around there. All within 1/2 hr of st paul.
