Ice at calling lake??

I have heard rumor from a few people that ice is thick enough to fish most spots around calling lake... Is this true?? I would like to know before I drive down for the weekend due to the long drive from home.. thanks very much!

I would be very leary of Calling at this time of year. When the wind blows there that lake gets very high waves and it would be one of the last ones to freeze. JMO. You might be able to walk on at the North side but I would not yet. I bet that lake gets very big ice heaves and stress crakes in the winter also.

Big lakes like calling slave and cold lake usually don't freeze till around mid December to January but once the ice is the it thickens pretty quick
