I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I was talking to my hunting partner and he was saying that hunting on Crown Land has later dates then on regular land.

The current zone I am hunting in is WMU 226, and the dates in the regulation book states Nov 1-Nov 30. But my hunting partner says that the dates on crown land lasts longer until Dec 2nd. I have combed over the regulation book and tried to search it online but I can't seem to find any information on that topic.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to this because I had to cut my hunting season short on Nov 22nd because I needed to come back up north to work. Longer times would bring a huge smile to my face.

I'd trust the regs!

Whether or not it is crown land does not matter, it is the WMU that matters, and I double check every WMU.
maybe waterfowl and upland is open a bit later, I dunno, I would check the regs for sure.....

Ok that's what I was thinking I just wanted to make sure because he claims he read it somewhere in the regs.

I don't need to be considered a poacher.

Your hunting partner is mis-informed,,, unless there is a split season draw in that WMU?

Depends on the WMU and the species of animal you are hunting...some Elk draws are open into January in some areas...but everything else isn't.

There is a couple zones in East Central that go to Dec. 20th...but most land owners have had their fill by Nov. 30th and a huge amount of NO Hunting- Don't ASK signs go up on the 30th..and SRD is thankfully out there helping them out....

I think he just mis-read the Nov1-Dec20 dates. He still claims he seen it somewhere in the regulations. But thanks anyways guys. I knew something sounded off.
