What do you do with your antlers?

Just wondering what everyone else does with the antlers that don't make the wall?

So far for me, all one of them made the wall

i let the birds and bugs clean the skulls... have a shed full of naturally whitened skulls with antlers

some have been given away, some have become rattling antlers.

this is mostly sheds, but a few went into this.....

small ones i just saw off at the skull... and zip tie them together with a tag saying zone, date killed...... and put them in a box.

the last 4 iv killed have made it onto the wall, but ones before them i clean the skulls out and euro mount them. I like to use decent sheds i find for rattleing antlers.

As for the moose antlers, you could have them carved, they don"t have to be big to make something nice.

I keep mine in a big ole pile in the man cave, that way when i wat to take a walk down memory lane i can dig through the pile and reminisce

I make something out of them. I've even got the spikes from the first buck I tagged; someday I plan to make a wall rack for my recurve bow out of them :)

The rest all get a plaque mount of some kind - even the little ones!

Big sheds end up in the pile (to be dug through and fondled later), small sheds go to the dog for shed training/chew toys. Bigger skulls/racks that have been killed by us get displayed, while smaller ones go into the bins.

I like to save them all, so that, like stated above, I can always take a trip down memory lane when I feel like it.

I must have about a dozen in the garage and shed that I've been meaning to do something with. I've been talking about doing it for a few years now but this winter I'm going to put them on the garage wall.........maybe. :)

They get divided into four groups

A, go in the trophy room in the house!
B, go in the hunting room beside the garage!
C, go into a huge pile outside
D, go to the Dog !

Biggies go in the house(170+whities and 200+ mulies) the rest go in the shop on the wall with a plaque stating the year and who's land it was shot on. The bigger ones in the shop are done in euro's mounted on different types of plaques/natural habital bases... Also keep a journal with a small note of when where what gun how far etc etc. Kinda cool to read back 20 years ago and read about a successful hunt:)

Every year ,what ever i shoot the antlers go under the christmas tree , its been a family tradition for many years!

I put mine in a pile beside my dads pile and trying hard to get mine as big as his but it aint happening all my decent ones get hang up on the barn haven't shot one over 150" to get mounted lol still got years for that I'm only 24 I write everything down range zone what I shot it with and year

Majority of them are hanging in the garage, with a nice little wall board. Who, when, where.

Just did up the wifes bull moose, and it too will be up, if she doesn`t hang it in her sewing room :love0025:
