Year of the sketchy ice!

Seems the ice so far is pretty unpredictable. I Ice fished Chestermere to amuse myself for a few hours on the weekend and drilled through 10" (measured) of ice. Meanwhile watching waves crest over the ice a half k away. Ice travellers beware! Have heard all kinds of dicey ice stories already, so hopefully noone will be posting disasters.

yup. the wind (currently 60 km/h) along with heavy erratic snow, and warm temps is making for some crappy conditions. Probably gonna be a bad flood ice year....again.........
