View Full Version : Wind effecting ice conditions...?

Was thinking of heading out to Carson tomorrow for some 'bows, but just noticed the forecast calling for 40 kmh winds. Apparently the ice is decent out there, and I have no issue spiking down the tent if need be, but will the wind affect the ice at all? Logic tells me, not really enough to worry about... Also, will the use of ice spikes weaken the ice around the shelter at all?

40km winds shouldn't do to much damage if the ice is already a pretty good thickness.

Down here in the south they are calling for 100+km/hr. over night but I don't think there was much for ice anywhere around here. Anything that was forming will be gone by morning if that is the case.
