After a 7 month wait, our New Zealand trophies arrived today. It was great to see them again...what a rush of great memories. They took a bit longer than normal because we had our possum hides tanned there and man, they are so soft it's unreal. Customs was super easy to deal with and they didn't get crazy with the GST so pretty awesome day all round. Now to just get them up to Curtis and let him work his magic. Can't wait to get them on the wall and to go back to New Zealand. What an awesome trip.

In the world of guided hunts it's actually quite affordable. We hunted with Sue and Gerald Telford of Telford Fishing and Hunting Services. They were absolutely first class and New Zealand is a very target rich environment....lol.

New Zealand mink! They mix it with merino wool.....what an incredible combination! There's quite the possum trapping industry in New Zealand.

They also call the possums Australia bush bears that's were the origanated from I believe the kiwis are live trapping some of them now and exporting them back to aussi land as thier numbers have dropped over there.T.J you should post the field pic's again for us and the new members. The possums get plucked a lot of the time believe it or not and the fluff is sold by the kilo. Can't wait to get back there myself cheers Andy

LOL...good to know. No sidetrack at all. With 70 million possums in New Zealand, I'm guessing they can share a few...lol

They have quite the erradication program going on the South Island. I doubt they'll ever get rid of them though.

They also hammer them in the North Island,New Zealand uses something like 90 percent of the 1080 poison produced in the world to try and control those pests. There has been lots of damage done to native forests down there by them.Just like a furry pine bettle to us lol.Cheers Andy

It is a wondrous place to hunt and visit.
Sheep, don't you wonder what shipping would cost if they used something lighter for the crate?

That is great you got them. I will be making some pick up and deliveries in that neck of the woods soon. I may have a bobcat for someone too.
Thanks,
Curtis
