Ok gang.

Antlerless Elk in 357. So I'm good until Dec 20.

Is there any point to squeaking on a cow or calf call while I'm following herd trails?
Honestly don't have any ideas on that one way or the other.

Found a herd trail yesterday...it kept going and going and going and all in a more or less direct line away from where I parked.
I think I'll keep heading into that area and hope that one of the times the herd is wandering around...that it'll be towards me and not away.

Any other tips appreciated...thanks.

It can be tough to beat dozens of wary eyes while you are walking on their trail. Figure out where and when they are feeding and bedding. Find an ambush site.

Drive around until you see the trails they have made coming into the fields or until you see a herd and then set up and cut them off..

Hardest part on these late hunts is finding the elk..
