Thats a good thing Jay.

Noisy ice means lower temps and the ice is getting thicker.

We are finally starting to see some decent temps around here to form some ice but the temps are still going to be going up and down over the next little while.

Haha my brain knows that the noisy ice is a good sign, but that doesn't stop my arse from puckering up when it cracks right under my feet!

I will hopefully be making my first trip onto the ice for the season sometime this week.

Hopefully I don't find any gators though. I will be looking for perch and walleyes so gators are the last things I want to see.

I screwed in one anchor Sunday and a big crack shot out from it, good thing I was outside the tent or Id have a sunroof!

We fished there on Sunday and there was only about 4 inches and the east end was wide open. Fishing sucked except for about an hour when we had some fun. Seen them on camera but they just quite biting. Got enough for a good feed so we were happy with that.
