My SIL and I setup pretty much in the center of the lake. The water was about 15 ft and ice was about 11 inches. We fished for about a couple of hours with a few bites and 1 rainbow iced. I then drilled a couple of holes about 150 yds from the east shore but the water was only 2-3 ft deep so I moved back out another 100 yds. The water there was about 3-4 ft and we fished it for maybe 1/2 hour with no luck. We then moved back out still further and only 100 yds east of our initial couple of holes. The water was about 15 ft and Dave iced 2 rainbows and I iced 1. The 4 rainbows were about 14" long but appeared much heavier than those of the same length we caught at Carson last weekend. Dave also caught a large brown which we lost as it was being pulled clear of the water. We guessed the brown at 5-6 lbs.

Dave and I were using very similar setups; his hook had maggots and a power ball, mine shrimp and a power ball (later I switched from shrimp to maggots). I was fishing at 12" then 24" off the bottom, he was about 4-5 ft off the bottom. This is the second time I fished only a foot or so off the bottom and Dave about 5 ft. He outfished me this time and last.

I saved one photo and will e-mail it to whomever is interested in viewing it. I don't know how to post photos here. Did not check to see what the trout were feeding on but will make a note to do so next time.

I was out on Dec 11 at millers with my mom and dad. we fished the west side of the lake in about 6-7ft of water. we seen about 20 fish throughout the day. (about 5hrs) My mom hooked a beautiful fish, in the 5lb range, but her drag was too loose in the beginning so it took alot of line before I tightened her drag up. She gained a lot of line back on it (along with my dads line and a HUGE wad of salad!) but ended up losing the fish due to the hook gap actually bending open! Too bad.

My dad was next up, hooking a 'bow that was pretty strong and peeled a little line off, but he kept the drama to a minimum while he landed a 21" approx. 4lb female.

I missed a couple of strikes on the day but it was a fun outing none the less. The majority of the fish we seen downhole were large, which kept us interested and reassured us of our fishing location was alright.:)
