Was out there yesterday, seen five other fisherman .Drove out with my F 150 4x4 drilled eight holes caught four walleye. About 14" solid black ice. There was a bigger Dodge diesel out there as well, stayed closer to shoreline then drove out 1.5 km .Was fun, man did winter come fast this year.:sHa_shakeshout:

Does anyone know of any springs, current etc that would effect overall ice thickness at utikuma or is it all the same once it freezes? I know that any lake can have variances but I'm wondering about known areas. Thanks.

It's usually pretty consistent but it's a large pond so you still have to use caution. However, she is pretty shallow overall so with a start like this there will probably be a **** ton of ice this year. I suspect we will see the huge heaves starting in January which can make access interesting at times.

Was out today, 18 inches of ice. Massive ice heaves already formed. Could not cross the one just east of the island by truck. Caught 3 wallys but that wind today was unforgiving

Last time I fished that lake, I caught a pair of sunglasses. They looked good on me too. I ended up dropping them in S. Sask while looking up at a hawk. They're probably still down in that valley today.

I thought you should all know this. May save your life one day.
