fishing for ling an old man river

i've been fishing at the old man river for ling at the northfork picnic grounds by cowley ab.I havent had much luck ice fishing.has anyone fished there with some pointers that might help

Watch out for currents... Rivers around here don't freeze thoroughly, tread carefully.
