I know I'm going to get flamed for not posting this in the Trapping discussion but whatever.. Went to call coyotes this morning and saw one of the markers on my coyote snare had been set off . Upon checking it I find a rare bonus indeed for my area in 108 , a large male bobcat, still alive held firmly by a front foot and not in a very good mood either . Went back to the house for a 22 and my camera . Dispatched him and my wife took photos which will be posted tonite by a friend ..{ sorry for being computer illegitimate } He was taken within a 100 yds of my back door , I'm sure the resident pheasants will be pleased with his absence . This is only the third bobcat I have seen in my 50 years of hunting the area , I'm sure there are more but not common .

well done, probably the most underutilized game critter in alberta. the powers that b have no idea how much money i would waste if chasing them with hounds is permitted!

You should take a drive west. Lots of opportunity in BC to run them but it is too bad they put an end to it here.

Very nice cat congrats! how about a stretched out jumping bobcat trying to catch a flushed rooster? it would show off his belly . Just an idea. Im sure either way he will look good no matter how u do him.

Thanx Steve , checked out his website and he is truly amazing .. I know in most things you get what you pay for , he is good but also pricey , also don't want the hasle of going stateside ... I'm staying with a local talented taxi that I think is comparable but less costly .
