I'm not looking to mooch for
Specific perch spots but I never really hear of
Any real reliable perch fishing lakes in central Alberta with the winter kill at lake isle and all the smaller lakes reporting stunted fingerlings from what I read, is there any hope for a lake where you can go to target them for a day and expect to come home with a meal???? Thoughts anybody??

If they wanted you to know where it is they would call it by its real name...

I volunteer as an "Uncle" with the Uncles at Large program. I'm taking my new nephew to Cross Lake tomorrow, in hopes he can get into his first fish ever. Thinking the odds are alright, fished there yesterday with my wife and had a pretty good day.

Took my nephew out earlier in the year, while the ice was sketchy. Thunder lake was the only one with enough ice for me to feel comfortable walking on, but the fish ( or lack there of ) were not playing our game.

Wish us luck.

i didn't think it was a big deal to ask. i wasn't looking to poach his spot. i assumed this was forum of discussion and if one one going to share their experience they were open to questions. my bad.

People are reluctant to give out their fav lakes and you cant blame them, I gave a spot away a while ago, now even I dont go there due to the heavy pressure it got after posting the info. Dont take it personaly but if you are sincere about were to go, try sending a pm instead of asking someone to post it, or ask to go with someone.

thank you Rumtan, i do understand why people are reluctant to share their lake.i would'nt want anyone to invade my place of peace and fun either. then why say anything is all i'm saying.

on cross lake, try straight out from the beach about 150 yds. in 12 ft. of water. Was excellent in the fall for both pike and perch.
