I've heard bad things... ice is all sheared together and jagged.. tough walking and not sure how thick it is.

Went out there the day I orginally posted this message. The ice definately all broke up and got pushed to the east end and re froze, its fricking thick now.... over 2'. Seems to be alot of loose stuff still floating around underneath though, had some trouble today with the bottoms of our holes getting blocked from big chucks. Was windy the first day but fish were biting, had 6 flags in about 2 hours of fishing and put 3 on the ice. Then a nice little snow storm came through so we hit the road

We had probably about a dozen flags today. Managed to put 4 on the ice, lost 3 at the holes. All were around the same size with just one going around 35" The old man got 3 while jigging a big spoon as well.

Looked like a mid summer thunder storm coming in.

Yeah at least where we were. You can see in some of those pics, all the sheets of ice piled up on the shore. I am pretty sure the wind broke the ice all up, pushed it into that bay and then it re froze all packed up on top of itself. Its thick there.

Ya, I ventured out today too for ~3 hours after posting my msg... Went to the east canal and fished on the north side of the canal. Ice was ~8-9 inches and clear where I was, and managed 2 pike- 1 smaller and 1 keeper size.

When I ventured that way this afternoon to have a quick look see before heading to the other side, there were half a dozen or so guys fishing either in the canal or just at the mouth of it. Didn't ask how the fishing was or how much ice though...
