Fortress mountain

I have been reading that you can not drive up the mountain. But any reason a guy can't hike up and hunt the old ski hill?
I wonder what the game population is like up top?

Bridge at the start of the road, just off hwy 40 is decertified, hence ski area and road are closed. It is quite a hike up the road to the old day lodge and the area is under private ownership so you would need permission. To answer your question, lots of animals up there.

Actually the bridge was rebuilt for the movie they shot up there a coouple of years ago. The lease owners are not allowing anyone to access or especially hunt, while there start the construction of the resort! The animal population is no where what it used to be !
