I went to Florida to see the inlaws and while we were driving we saw a sign for a guide service. so once we got back i searched it online and made a booking with my friend that was with me.

we ended up getting 2 nice boars. i got a 185 pounder with a spear. and my buddy got a 130pounder with a shotgun.

we saved the jowbones to take back but i am just wondering if i need to do anything special to the to get them over the boarded. we are flying back to edmonton

I brought a taxidermied hog head back and there was no trouble crossing the border. As long as it is boiled, bleached, and clean, I don't think you will have any trouble.

we saw the big hog off in the distance and gave chase in the swamp buggy. it was and intense ride with the throttle open and rough terrain to boot. when we got closer we let out our chatch dog and continued the pursuit. once we got closer i hoped down and i stuck mine with a spear but it wasnt that easy. we had a bulldog hound mix "buck" latch on to him to tie him up while i tried to stick him. the hog fought off the dog several times, it turned on the guide a couple times also, when i stuck it the dog had been gored 3 times, but one stab to the lungs then a second to the heart ended him quick, the dog was fine after a few minutes of heavy bleeding. that dog still wanted to be in the action, everytime we saw another hog it went ballistic and wanted in, but the guide decided it had enough action for one day, we both agreed.

my friend got his after we chased one into the brush, we let our redbone hound "PJ" in after him, once the hound had him brayed up we went in and it was a free for all in there, the hog was fighting the hound, then the guide called the hound off and my buddy paul let a round of 00buck into his face and neck, the hog let out a blood curdling squeal and charged paul. the hound got to him first and tied him up again, then in a several minute brawl with the hound and guide paul finally got another clear shot and put him down. now that we were out of rounds i moved forward with the spear and handed it to paul and he ended him with a quick stick in the heart. that was an exciting hunt from Ron's guide service/outwest farms in Okeechobee florida

THAT is a STUPENDOUS story!!:sHa_shakeshout:
So it was close , in yer face thing, that's great!
Love the swamp buddy as well - dogs have more heart to hunt than many give them credit for - just ask any cougar hunter!:)
