Got my first big game animal (WT deer) this year and am looking to mount the antlers on a wall plaque. Have access to lots of high quality wood scraps but cannot decide what design/shape to go with.

Please post pics of your favorite and most interesting antler plaques!!

Thanks

I prefer a straight euro skull mount. The Mule Deer at the top is mounted on the "Skull Hooker" and the Elk is going to get one as well.

Here are some shapes and sizes for my deer plaques. Small, dark plaques look better imo

Old board mount with shelf. Cheap and easy.

Ive never seen it done, but is it possible to do a euro mount on a velvet buck?

Thanks a lot guys! I like the idea of a photo attached to the mount. I'll make a decision and get a plaque built soon'ish.

Here is a euro mount of mine in velvet. It can be done but it takes some time, you have to simmer it slow and pic away at it so the steem doesnt soften the velvet too much. I built the plaque out of 3/4 inch birch. I prefer this as it holds the antlers at a realistic angle. :)

Get yourself a mountain mikes rack keeper plastic skull that's by far the easiest way of doing it IMO

If you want to see something different check out the Iron Buck mounts you can order them through Bass Pro. They are cool if you want something different that everyone else dosn`t have. I first saw them at Sheels in Great Falls.:medium-smiley-035:
