Well after sitting on the couch for 2 weeks dying to get out on the ice living through stories from you guys and getting pictures and texts from friends out on the lakes. Well today was finally the day.

So I got up at 5:40 this morning, picked up my BIL and we headed north. We unloaded the quad from the trailer, loaded the gear from the truck and headed out to our spot.

We were set up before the sun came up and were on the perch all day non stop.

It was a great day on the ice. No injuries to report, knee held up great. We packed up around 3pm with our limits and headed for shore.

Some of todays keep. Here is todays big one. My BIL caught this humpback. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Home after 6 and got my 15 perch all cleaned and ready to hit the batter tomorrow night.

It was great to get back out there and now to rest up and see the doctor in the morning.

Thanks everyone for all the stories, keep em' coming.

Glad to hear your back and feeling better......knees can be tricky, make sure you wear some kind of cleat so you dont wipe out and set yourself back a few weeks of recovery time.

Good job on getting out. When I had my knee done in 2010, I was out hunting 5 days after. That said, I sat in a truck, iced it and mostly glassed our fields. . .but it sure was nice getting out. Next weekend I am going down to Newell to help the BIL get his shack back on the ice. He just got his ACL replaced for the second time on Dec 22. . .and his shack blew off Newell.

I think I recognize where you were and indeed the perch were on. We were in the same neighborhood (if I am right) from the 27-31 but on other lakes.

Cheers.
