ya, so they can over populate and stunt......... looks to me theres enough fish in the lake, time to start thinning em out so they can obtain some size. we hate those lakes with 5 gagillion 4" perch.( unless you have kids to entertain).

Amazing how you can tell size with no reference.

But i agree with pat why put them back when their good enough to eat.
And it keeps the lake from stunting.

x2 I've been trying to do my part in letting people know where to find them.........Nakumun........a little thinning of the perch population would do it some good. Smaller ones taste good too. I figure that when they get harder to catch fewer people will fish there. :)

Going out there to Nakamun on Friday with my neices. Not sure if we'll keep any as I'm going somewhere else Saturday. Nakamun has been producing well this year. It would be nice to see Nakamun thinned so it doesn't stunt and we can have a lake that produces nige perch as there is a predator in Nakamun.

I hoe people hear you that Nakamun is a good lake around Edmonton that can be thinned but not fished out.

You best look again if the biggest is 10 there's no way the smallest is 5.
the smallest is a fair bit bigger then half the biggest. And when I went to school 5 was half of 10

All I know is I eat everything I catch, so if I think if I can filet them and I follow the size and quantity regulations then I have no problem keeping them...5 inches dream on...top gun don't be jealous!!! I waste nothing I catch!!! Just got back from a fish dinner with my folks and they enjoyed them immensely...My parents didn't care what size they were!!!
