Can anyone recommend a good place to rent an ice hut for a day of fishing relatively close to Calgary?
I went out a couple years ago to Pigeon Lake (I think!) and rented a nice hut. Had a great fire and a good time, but never caught a fish! I'm not opposed to going somewhere a little bit further out for better fishing, but we're just looking for somewhere to do a day trip.
I'm looking for a place that can also provide rental of gear, as ice fishing (historically for me) is pretty slow, so investing in my own gear has never even crossed my mind. I'm honestly anticipating a big yawn when I go out again, but a friend wants to go out so I said I'd look into it...
