Ice Thicker?

I know it's only been a couple of days of this frigid cold but does anyone know if the ice on lakes south of Calgary are getting noticably thicker?
I know most are safe to walk on,just wondering if they'll be safe to drive on by sunday.
Thanks in advance.(I like to see 14 to 16 inches of ice before I feel safe driving on it)
