I made this Video with short clips and pictures from last season. It was pretty difficult to fly fish with one hand and film but i did it and got some of it on film.

not too shabby, if you get excited over 2 rises you have to come down this way when they are rising by the hundreds, looks like a hailstorm on the river!

You should look into getting a go pro if you are planning on doing a bunch of videos.

You could attach it to a hat or something so you can use both hand and where ever you look the camera will follow which will give you that point of view look that you are going for in your video.

Looks great.

Not sure I know what "The Sedges" refers to but it's a pic of caddis larvae.

One thing you can do to take quick and easy pan shots is to go to HomeDepot and get a bolt and washer which will fit your tripod mount.

You take a 5 foot piece of string and bolt one end to the tripod mount.

This way you can just step on the string to steady your camera at difference heights and you can pan around without the camera shake.

Thanks for the reply`s everyone.
The sedges i was referring to are yes caddis larvae but when i came back to check that rock after i seen a caddis hatch most of them were gone thats why i put it as sedges. All caddis just differnt stages in life.

Wayne i lawled when i read your comment but i got sloppy seconds on the spot i was fishing so i did the best i could there. but when it starts getting dark the water starts boiling with rises.

Nate im not going with a go pro because i got a new video camera that shoots in HD so im good to go for filming.
This video was filmed on a 6megapixal camera.

Well done! Can't wait for the open water season now and hope to have some better luck this year. I'd like to be a little more adventurous and try to find places like those but am not sure about taking my son into some back country. He's turning ten next summer but I didn't grow up where there bears and stuff that want to kill you so I'm hesitant.

Most times bears wont bother you just stay your distance. Kanaskis is a good place to be outback and lots of well used trails to stay on. we will be doing alot of filming out there and SW alberta this comming summer

We did a family trip in sw Alberta last summer, camping out in some neat spots. Again, not being familiar we played it a bit safe. I must say though, the one big river I fished a bit, the oldman I think it was, was fantastic for rainbow. I just got into fly fishing last summer and can say getting them to bite is easy but landing them is not that common. Gets the adrenaline going though. Seeing your pictures does motivate me to want to explore more.

Thanks Dace. Our First Video will be at the Clearwater for browns and bullies on the 8wt and with the HD it will make some very nice videos! April will be the first trip i cant wait.

Our videos will include the adventure and at the end of each eposode we will be tying up a fly.BigGame is tying these up for the trip and will be edited into our video.
