Northlands tackle, bright orange forage minnows, buck shot rattle spoon. Pieces of power bait jigs for bait, get the stinkiest ones and cut em up. Stays on the hook great, and it takes forever to use the bait up.

Depends on their mood. Sometimes a Kastmaster, sometimes a 3/4 oz cicada, sometimes Hali chain dropper, or marmish. Go big if aggressive and smaller as they slow down through the day. Hali chain dropper is a good combo of larger presentation with small bait presentation and usually pretty consistent.

That mud bug in the top right corner is deadly with a berkley gulp alive fish fry on it.

That is one of my normal go to set ups but it isn't working out for me this year.

I am thinking I have to down size even further and go with some tiny tungsten jigs.

Favorite out of those is the Hali on the left and the brosbug on the right, tipped with 4 or 5 maggots and away you go.

I'm a fond user of the special hooks made by a fellow members 11 year old daughter. Garry B makes them and supplies them to me. They are great, yipped with a maggot or 5 and the perch can't stay away.

Love them, I use 2 on my line about 8" apart.

The red hook on those jig heads(fish farmers pic) makes them that much more irresistible!

How much do those bad boys cost and where can I get some. I would love to get a stock of them in the ice fishing box.

Send a PM to Garry B. He's got a sweet setup going on production. You may have to wait till next year though, not sure. I'm still testing them with Trader and they sure are working great.

The one on the bottom, why do you take the treble hook off?

Thanks Carson

Because the perch will rarely hit the bottom hook on it and it's just a pain in the ass when unhooking fish. That being said I will sometimes add a dropper off the bottom of it. I also sometimes shave the plastic down on the backend to allow the perch to take it easier and I find it gets better hookups.

You can order some awesome styles of these hooks out of the scandinavian and baltic countries. They are miles ahead with Ice fishing almost too good judging by the sad quality of many of those fisheries.
