Anyone ever fish Chump lake? Just west of N. Buck. Wondering if its worth checking out. Any size to the perch there?

I went out a couple of times last year and once in the summer.
it use to have some good sized perch, but now all you will find is a lot of 4" perch.

Too bad.
Seemed like a good place to try as N.Buck has good perch and Missawawi used to have gooders also. Stock some pike in there and watch the small perch dissapeer and bigger one's bountyfull.

I think N.Buck will die soon, seems like it's next to go. The perch seem to be getting smaller. Not many 14" and more 10" to 12" Close it for a year or two. I would sooner catch 5 - 14" perch than 15 - 10"

Small perch at chump, most under 6 inches. Caught 2 walleye last winter that was a suprise.

Kinda missed that part of it. I will rephrase. Need to put 10 large pike from Wabamun in there. That would kleen out the little ones.

Hmmm. They stocked Walleye in N.Buck, a couple of years. I wonder where they are hiding? Maybe thats why the perch a large there, they ate all the Walleye fry. LOL

I use to fish this lake, before it was called Chump Lake; used to be called Little Johnson Lake. It was only accessible through a few winding dirt trails.

It use to have great perch fishing, until it was developed.
