well me and a couple buddies went out to badger this weekend to find a good spot and pick up our derby tickets, but fishing was pretty slow. We managed to ice 3, the biggest being 5lbs, and had a couple more bites then that. When we went to pick up our tickets at the bar they said a few people came threw earlier and never even got a sniff, so i guess we were lucky. Just wondering if anyone else was out there and how they made out.

was there Friday from 8:00am to 4PM, not 1 bite. At the north end. Was cold lots of wind and again not "1" bite. Never had that happen before. The ice was 16" thick. We drove out but not far. Good luck.

Well i guess we were pretty lucky then. Usually we hit the north end but decided to try a different spot and i guess it paid off but was hoping to get that killer spot, who knows maybe it was then.

Fished Badger today, the SW corner by the Dam. 4 pike on the ice, and a dozen on the camera, and a couple of whitefish swam by. Nothing over 5lbs. Ice looked a little iffy, so we walked out. Only 12 inches, if that. Last years derby winner was 27lbs.......? It's got me beat, there must be a secret spot, but i can't figure it out.

Take a quick look at a topo map of the lake, many lurking spots:angry3: Just have to get lucky and pick the right one, derby winners come from all over this lake:sign0176:

best spot in the lake is the hole just east of the hump

Not a chance, I fished it once and never again. I prefer my gong shows on tv :bad_boys_20: besides I forgot where that hump is!

Well you saw more then us, we only saw a few on the camera. But never saw any whitefish. Hoping to get back soon and try a different spot out.

if you are looking for whites try the ridges coming off the islands on the north end on your left when you drive on

I fished there during the last derby and did ok, no lunkers, our best was an 8lber. We did see a few whites on the camera but i have a few other spots im thinking of trying before derby time.
