Moon in their eyes

Finished my first aid course this afternoon so I decided to see if the moon was turning on the walleyes, didnt fish too long but managed a dink pike that stole my minnow 3 or 4 times before I hooked it, and another that bit my jig off. Also managed 3 nice eyes, the biggest of them I somehow managed to lasso but I still got it through the ice. Figured 6 or 7 pounds. Beautiful moonrise, with the noisy ice and howling coyotes for background music. Another pressure ridge building there, I could hear the water under the ice, sounded like it was running almost. A big crack across the ice had frozen up but one side was starting to rise, and a couple times I could even feel it move under my feet.

started out as a big minnow. somehow it tossed the jig which got wrapped around the leader and looped the top jaw
