Gull and Sylvan Report

Headed out to Gull on Sunday. Pretty quiet out there as I had the area to myself. Fishing in about 12 FOW. Within 2 minutes I had a white come in, hooked it and lost it. Managed to see a few more whites after that, hooked and lost another. Then I landed 2 pike - 1 was small and the other was likely a keeper but went back. Then I hooked and lost a small perch followed by a white that I also hooked and lost. Next was another repeat of a hooked and lost white. Then I played with a real big white but it was just shy enough to turn away at the last minutes. Kept coming back about every 10 minutes but after a bit I was getting bored.

Packed up and headed over to Sylvan. So great to have the 2 lakes close enough. Within 10 minutes of setting up I had landed 2 big whites. Big for Sylvan that is. I've noticed that they seem bigger this year. I only saw 2 that were the typical smallies. Moved around a bit and managed over 2 hours to limit out. Also, hooked and landed about a 5 lb pike and hooked and lost about a 14-15 lb pike. Sylvan pretty much rocks!!

Great day! Typical sized is the one on the far right. The rest were a pretty sweet size. Looks like fresh fish burgers tonight!
