Depends what your after go striaght east to mcgregor usually catch something. Try little bow reservoir been hearing good reports from thier of decent pike. Lots of lakes within couple hours. Pinecoulee seem popular. Want catch trout go to chain lakes west of nanton.

i thought the waste water from cargill drained into that lake because from what i have seen there is no river or streams that drain in there and its only six feet deep i think if anyone has an opinion or comment this would be greatly helpful

Come on guy! I fished 10 long years before joining this forum a year ago. I researched all lakes, resovoirs Etc. on my own. Ie. Alberta fishing regulations, internet and just driving to the lake and fishing on my own..There is basic research that I have accumulated on the way and have gone on to this forum to expand my knowledge further.Sorry, you should do the same and save the emmbarrasment (spelling) on this forum.

I wouldn't drive on the ice at Frank, but if you walk out to almost the middle of the lake I've heard there are some pockets that run deeper than six feet.

dammit people... figure out your own fishing spots, Don't give any "Hints" on places that take some people years to find out about. idiots. Besides, its closed anyway...

Half of fishing is finding the "right" spot and bushwhacking or exploring to find a good fishing spot. Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

One of the best places in southern Alberta. You're guarantee to get something.

Here's the link (http://maps.google.ca/maps?saddr=3516+8+Ave+NE,+Calgary,+AB+T2A+6K5+(T+% 26+T+Supermarket+Inc)&daddr=High+River,+AB&hl=en&sll=50.820686,-113.935089&sspn=0.740912,1.783905&geocode=FfEbCwMdnLw0-SF8W2BTYDEJTykniVuXLHtxUzEJEuJZIK8XkQ%3BFXPQAwMdC3 42-Sn1S8wfFpVxUzEADlFDkKMABQ&gl=ca&mra=ls&t=m&z=10)

I've never been skunked there. The ice can be slushy, or cubed, but its very safe. Heated too!

Good luck out there! :happy0034:
