Anyone ever try hooking up a 12v marine battery to your fish camera. just wondering if this would work for long trips out?

12 volts are 12 volts, it matters not what the shape or physical size box it comes from.

Use a deep cycle and it could last all season!

ran mine off a battery booster pack, works great, also has a light and a compressor, and if your truck wont start boosts that too.

Get rid of the fish tv and get a mid range or better marcum color.

Fish tv's work just fine and they are cheap.

What does your reply have to do with him hooking up a 12v battery?.....

Lol, don't think the OP was asking opinions on whether they should keep the Fish TV.....

I can't get mine to rum off a booster pack. How do you do it? Do you use the cigeret adapter outlet

I use the clamps. I shaved off a little bit of plastic from ends of the connectors that go to the battery, then hook the booster pack clamps to the bare metal on the wire connectors. Make sure you turn the booster pack on first, before the TV. My booster pack gives a bit of a surge when you first turn it on, and if the TV is on, it'll cook the 2A fuse. If the TV is off when you turn on the pack then you're good :)

Clear as mud, right?

I bought a cig lighter adaptor plug hooked the wires to that and just plugged it into the cig adaptor on the booster pack
