Went open water fishing today !

Just got home from pike fishing with my son, his girlfriend, and her dad. we fished the open water section of the Battle River close to the power plant between Halkirk and Forestburg, right by Bigknife park. Had a blast we caught about 20 or so pike, mostly hammer handles, but some larger. Was a great time, warm enough to fish bare handed, and caught a few slough sharks, don't get much better than that !! For the middle of Feb. in Alberta !!

We've got the bow in town but it gets a bit repetitive.

i fish there every winter, you can actually swim there in jan and feb!
